Dr Toyin Ajibade

Dr Toyin Ajibade is a graduate of Agricultural Economics from the esteemed University of Ilorin. She has about eight years cognate banking experience spanning over a few commercial banks which include the fast growing Access Bank and Sterling Bank Plc., where she carried out various functions such as Credit Analysis & Risk Assessment, Credit Appraisal & Monitoring, Business Intelligence, Sales and Marketing amongst other functions. She graduated from The Learning Institute (i.e. Access banking school of excellence) with a sterling performance where she cleared choice awards which include the highly coveted and prestigious Credit Policy Guide Award (CPGA). Given the sound credit background, she along with her team successfully grew and managed a huge credit portfolio before her voluntary exit from the banking industry.

Having built a solid banking background, she further ventured into the academia with a bias in Agricultural Economics, exploring Price Discovery in Agricultural markets across Nigeria wherein she bagged her PhD. Her research saw her visiting all agro ecological zones of the country with 18 states and the Federal Capital in view. Armed with a vantage exposure to Nigeria’s agricultural landscape, she had since published several articles in numerous International and local journals therein contributing to various topical issues including Agricultural and Rural finance, Food Security, Climate Change, Social Protection, Development among others.

Dr Toyin is well travelled, having presented papers in many international agricultural conferences and seminars across the globe; in China, United Kingdom, Indonesia, The Netherlands, Italy, South Africa and Swaziland to mention just a few. She brings to bare a blend of practice and intellect, having successfully blended a rich banking career with research interest in the field of Agriculture.

With an evolving agricultural revolution in view, Dr. Toyin’s recent drive is fuelled by the passion to see agriculture in all its forms metamorphose to a state of pride for the nation and all who practice it. She is happily married with three kids. When not buried in research works, Toyin loves to explore the world, read poems, cook and walk. She loves good music.
